Curriculum Vitae

Kerstin Born-Sirkel joined CEPS on 1 February 2013 as Director for Corporate and External Relations and a member of the Executive Committee. She has almost 20 years of international business and business support, NGO, and European political experience including as an accomplished communications professional and project leader.
In 2011 and 2012, Kerstin has been working as independent consultant, among others for and with the European Commission (DG Enterprise and DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion), Bernard Brunhes International (BBI) in France and Romania, the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) in Brussels and Global CSR in Denmark. Kerstin has been conducting studies and supported European tenders on CSR as well as leading on their European-wide implementation. Topics included e.g. “Capacity building for SMEs in the field of Human Rights” and “Social aspects in public procurement”.
Before her work as consultant, she was the executive director of CSR Europe, a European corporate network of multinational companies and SMEs promoting social corporate responsibility. Prior to this assignment, Kerstin worked for DaimlerChrylser Financial Services, first in a business support position responsible for "corporate messages and texts" of the CEO, and later as project leader for international talent and skills management. She led on its implementation and communication in Europe and North America.
Kerstin’s professional experience includes two years of project management work in South Africa for a German foundation, and six years with the administration of the German states Berlin and Bremen, working on European Affairs.
Kerstin studied at the universities of Göttingen, Caen (France) and Bonn, and has a Master of Arts as well as an MBA (Open) degree. Kerstin is fluent in German, English and French. She is married and has two daughters.
